is a writer, consultant astrologer, lecturer and workshop leader. She retired as an
integrative psychotherapist in 2011 after practising for thirty years.
Babs gained her diploma from the Faculty of Astrological Studies in 1984 and went on to become its Vice President. She was the Director of the Faculty’s 2 year course, Counselling within Astrology, and taught for the Faculty for twelve years.
Babs is a founder member and fellow of the Association of Professional Astrologers International, (www.professionalastrologers.co.uk). Babs was appointed to the Advisory Board of the National Council for Geocosmic Research in 2001.
Currently Babs is a trustee of The Urania Trust (www.uraniatrust.org) a charity in the UK, which provides funding for a variety of astrological endeavours, and was a member of the Sophia Committee, whose remit was to establish astrology on the curriculum in universities. This work has now concluded with two courses currently established. One at University of Wales Trinity St David (email firstname.lastname@example.org). Babs has an MA in Jungian and Post-Jungian Studies from Essex University; her dissertation being Jung’s View of Astrology – A Critical Enquiry into the Role of Astrology in Analytical Psychology.
Babs has lectured extensively nationally and internationally and offers workshops that combine humanistic and transpersonal psychology with astrology. These can be tailored to the specific needs of a group or organisation.
Babs interest in ceramics predates her retirement from her psychotherapy practice and now takes up a lot of her time. That, and creative writing, babskirbyblog.wordpress.com have become a major source of creative satisfaction.
